Abstracted Asiana

April 4, 2007

This was reclaimed from a negative I thought was wasted, overexposed, totally kaput in a very lightleaked way. Of course I had thought that of other negatives before but my scanner had thankfully proved me wrong, so here is this photo for your consideration.

I only wish I could remember what IT IS! I know when it was taken because I recognise one of the characters coming out of the light-fogged mist of another frame on this roll. It was taken on or around World Toy Camera Day 2005 (as was the Luna Park photo previous) Mike L and I wandered around St. Kilda and the City trying to capture some suitably plastic exposures for the day. I doubled exposed my Holga shots and Light-Leaked the Asiana. (it was my first WTCD!)

Anyway I looked at the roll from the Asiana (I never discarded it) today and thought hmmmm... so here is the abstract result of my scanning. I really like it, hope you do too. There will be more Asiana shots to come (future one yet to be taken should be less fogged now I think I've traced the leak)

BTW, if anyone could explain the banding evident in this photo, I'd be most appreciative.

Camera: Asiana, Film: Fuji Reala.

i love this, cameron :-) honestly, i like the "folded" look of the film. i'm sure that's not what you were going for, though ;-)

I wish I knew what I was going for Angie! If I could remember where it was and what, I'd go back for another shot at capturing it!
